About the event
Join us for the 21st Annual Hoosier Herpout, an exciting event for nature enthusiasts and herpers alike! This year's gathering will take place at the stunning Hardin Ridge Recreation area, located within the Hoosier National Forest at Monroe Reservoir in Bloomington, IN.
Meet us at Shelter House #1, conveniently situated near the boat launch ramp parking lot, rain or shine (because herping is always great, even in the rain!). We'll set out to explore the area shortly after 9:30am and return before 12:00pm for a delicious cookout. Afterwards, we'll continue our herping adventure, with the option to herp again on Sunday.
This event is a wonderful opportunity for our members to explore the breathtaking hills of southern Indiana and observe a variety of herps, including the possibility of venomous species. Please ensure that you wear the appropriate gear and remember that herping is done at your own risk. While we assume no responsibility for accidents or injuries, we encourage you to have a safe and enjoyable time.
The HHS will be providing burgers and hotdogs for the cookout, but we kindly request that you bring a food contribution and your own beverages. There are several camping options available, including class "A" camping with showers and electrical hookup, as well as class "B" camping with showers. For more information, please contact Jim Horton at President@hoosierherpsoc.org. We can't wait to see you there!
